Just applied the Sticky Tape replacing my old hex grip tape that was wearing out. Was excited for sure. When it arrive I was admittedly disappointed a bit. The cut of the pad in places looks jagged like it was cut by hand vs. machine. You can definitely see it on the curved pieces, etc. also, front pad appears to have a gouge or defect in it from printing. Again, not sure. Did apply and we’ll see how it holds up. Got it for durability, so hoping my opinion improves from there.
The grip is very durable and built to last. That said, it is 3D printed rather than laser cut, so some curves may not appear as perfectly smooth as a cut product. With the 3mm Sport grip specifically, you may notice minor cosmetic variations on the base of the grip surface due to the low-infill construction we use to achieve the softness and cushioning that make this design effective. The underside also incorporates a hexagonal venting structure that allows the TPU to flex and breathe; without it, a solid 3mm TPU grip could create sensor engagement issues. The 3mm Sport was one of our earliest grip designs and has been carefully engineered and refined to deliver the performance it was designed for. Any minor cosmetic imperfections are purely aesthetic and typically become less noticeable with use as the grip naturally settles in.
